ITALY.

A despatch from Florence states : — Sixty-five thousand Italian troops are now concentrated upon the line between Bologna and Ferrara, and 35,000 are stationed at or near Piacenza. Large quantities of war materials are being conveyed from Alessandria to Bologna. The Piacenza Hussars have left Caserta ■ for Upper Italy, and the Monferrato Cavalry wUI shortly follow from Nola. The Guide Regiment will proceed from Naples direct to Caserta. These movements are stated to have the object of preparing a second line to the two corps now being concentrated under General Cialdiniand General Durando, the first on the right of the Po, at Bologna, -and the second to the left of Piacenza. The field-batteries have also received orders to march from Naples and Caserta direct to the camp of Bologna. Advices received from Venetia that Austria is making considerable military preparations in that provi&pe. Orders are stated to have been given^fcprepare' quarters for the officers of four Croatian regiments now on their way v from Germany, and shortly expected at Venice. Information has been received by telegraph from the provincial delegations respecting the localities available in the different towns for military quarters, and for storing provisions and war material. The Austrian army occupying Venetia at present consists- of .75,000 men, this being the peace establishment. In fifteen or twenty days, it is stated, this force could be doubled by calling in the soldiers on furlough. : The Naples "Italia" states that the Italian soldiers upon unlimited furlough will/ very soon be called out, and announces that the Lodi cavalry regiment has received orders to march to Bologna. The following is the actual strength of the Italian navy: — Ships of war of all rates (including two training ships), 71 ; }1197 guns, 25,820 horse-power, 20,627 seamen ; transports, 24 ; 124 guns, 4390 horse-power, 3220 seamen.
