RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, COBDEN.
Thursday, May- 21 (Before T. A. S. Kynnersley, Esq., E.M.) Charge of -Robbery .from the Person/ — John Black, storekeeper, Little Grey, was charged -with stealing £35 from the person of W. J. Roberts, a digger. From the evidence it appeared that -Roberts and a number of men were in Black's store, and Roberts was ' ' shouting" f or all who came iv. A dispute took place as to the payment, and one witness stated that he saw Black rush from behind the counter and tear one of Roberts'? pockets, in which he had his money, cleiiji out. There was a drunken row, and the prosecutor had no distinct recollection of how he lost his money, all that he knew was that he had lost it. The Magistrate dismissed the case.
