Br Electric Telegraph—Copyright. HEAVY DAMAGES IN A LIBEL ACTION. [Reuter's telegrams.] Received December 29th, 12.30 p.m. LONDON, December 28. The libel action brought by Mr John Bell, the well-known sculptor, against Mr Lawes, proprietor of " Vanity Fair,” has resulted in a verdict for the plaintiff with | j2S? 00 damages. The libellous statement I alleged that certain works shown by Mr Bell as his own. were really those of other sculptors.
