MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close for the following places as under (subject to the necessary alterations) : SATURDAY, DECEMBER 23. For Northern ports, per Taiaroa, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. For Otago, per special train, at 7 p.m. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2G. For Otago, Australian Colonies, and United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, via Naples (specially addressed correspondence only), at 12.30 p.m.; late fee letters at 12.45 p.m.; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. Notice. —On Monday next (Christmas Day) all branches of this Department will be closed. Mails usually despatched on Monday will be closed on Saturday, 23rd instant, at 8 p.m. The office will be open for delivery of letters on Saturday evening, 23rd instant, from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. Sunday hours will be observed in the private box lobby on Christmas day. On Tuesday next (26th December) all branches of this department will open from 0 till 10 a.m. only. One complete delivery will be made, each letter carrier beginning at eight a.m. Mails will be made up as usual.
