MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close for the following places as under (subject to the necessary alterations) ; SATURDAY, DECEMBER 23. For Chatham Islands, per Island Lily at 11.30 a.in.; late fee letters at 11.40 a.m. guard’s van, 12,10 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Taiaroa, at 7 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail.
Notice. —On Monday next (Christmas Day) all branches of this Department will be closed. Malls usually despatched on Monday will be closed on Saturday, 23rd instant, at 8 p.m. The office will be open for delivery of letters on Saturday evening, 23rd instant, from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. Sunday heurs will he observed in the private box lobby on Christmas day. On Tuesday next (26th December) all branches of this department will open from 9 till 10 a.m. only. One complete delivery will he made, each letter carrier beginning at eight o’clock. Mails will be made up as usual.
