Received December 20th, 1 p.m. MELBOURNE, December 20.

Arrived, this morning—Steamship Manapouri, from Bluff. Sailed, this morning— Steamship Wairarapa, for Bluff. The Railway Management Bill, recently laid on the table of the House, has been circulated. It proposes the appointment of a railway board, the members of which shall be removable by the Government. The “Argus” to-day pronounces the measure a sham, and declares it an insult to the community, and demands that it be taken back and recast.

ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. This Day. Every part of the yards well tilled with all classes of stock. Fat Sheep A great supply to only a dull inquiry, prices receded somewhat, 10s to 12s 6d being the ruling' rates for shorn crossbreds; lid to lid may be quoted as the average price per lb. Merino mutton .both inandoutof the woolneglected. Store Sheep—The marketwellsupplied. For young store sheep biddings were very animated, as was the case for medium aged ewes with lambs; older sheep were difficult of sale. Fat Lambs. —A large number sent forward, for which the trade eagerly competed, 6s to 9s, being ruling prices. Figs—A small entiy and little business Fat cattle. —A more than average entry, some prime Christmas beef being on offer. The trade showed very little animation, late quotations, anSavorage of 20s per 1001 b, only being maintained. Store cattle —A plentiful supply. Sale not commenced when our report left.
