Drunkenness. —For a first offence a woman was lined ss. Jas. Ryan was fined 108; and Jos. Kinley, ss, all with the usual alternatives in case of default. Alleged Suicide. —The case of Henry Clarke, the imbecile youth, was finally disposed of. Drs. Symes and Irvine having certified to his being of unsound mind, he was committed for safe custody to Sunnyside Lunatic Asylum. Assault. —Reginald Bray was fined £1 with costs of Court and expenses of one witness, for assaulting Patrick Corrigan, who had been in his employmeat.
The Murphy Family.—This case was further adjourned for one week, till a deed of separation is completed, Mrs Murphy in the meantime to take charge of the children.
An 111-Assorted Pair—Henrietta Sophia Chong-a-chee, charged her husband with deserting her, with gross cruelty to her, and she prayed for a separate maintenance with the custody of her two children. She detailed several instances of ill-treatment, but admitted there had been condonation in each case, and it appeared that she had left her husband. Chong-ah-chee said that his wife was idle, insolent, neglectful of her home and children, and of filthy habits. The application was not granted.
