Yesterday afternoon a cricket match was playad between the second elevens of the Wesr Christchurch and Sydenham schools. In the first innings the West Christchurch made 9, and the Sydenham 19. The second innings was not played out owing to a dispute about the scoring.

The following will represent the Sandridtre C.C. in their match against the Waltham C.C, on the ground of the latter, on Anniversary Day. Play to commence at 8.30 a.m.: —A. Johnstone, G. Dunham, T. Cain, T. Mortlock (captain), T. McGallon, W. Duckworth, T. Wiltshire, F. Bullen. Emergencies—C. Johnstone, J. Johnston, -and J. Oram.

AUCKLAND v NELSON. The commencement of this match was ■given in our yesterday's issue. On play being resumed after the lunch adjournment — Gill having ad'ed 2 to the score, was given out leg before wicket—7l-B—2. Buckland scored two singles and then dro w o for 3, when Eden reached his bales— S3 —9 —5. Dowe was last man, but only -added 1 before he too fell before T. Eden, the innings closing for 89. The Nelson men commenced the innings under favorxible circumstances, but T. Eden retiring at Lankham's second ball, and G. Fowler beiDg also bowled by Lankham in the next ■over, a general funk appeared to set in. The only men to stand were Hodder, who ran up 8 pretty fairly, G. Fowler, who played a pretty bat, and outlived the remaining wickets for 7, and Malcolm,

who played pluckily for 8. The innings closed for a total of 33. The Auckland then went in for their second innings, and Barton and Eobinson entered partnership, but the latter, after making two hits, each for 2, retired before G. Fowler. Amen and Barton then ran the score up to 4u, when the latter was caught very cleverly by T. Eden. Yates then joined Arneii, but after playing one ball time was called, the score standing 45 for two wickets, 1 lie fielding of the Auckland was very good, but that of the Nelson a little weak at times, Silcoek failing to hold Barton, ana again Arneii inthefirstinnings.butNolson s bowling was good, and the long stopping of L. Fowler was perfect.
