GOOD TEMPLARY.

At the sitting of the Grand Lodge at Rangiora last night, a report on the relation of Good Templars to the Licensing Act was adopted, It contained the following :—" It is competent at the election of a Licensing Committee to raise the question of license or no license, or of any other question relating to the working of the Act." " Good Templars should accept eeat3 on Licensing Committees, with a view to the exercise of the restrictive and prohibitory powers conferred by the Act, l>ut the formal signing of a license by any Good Templar who may be chairman of a Licensing Committee shall not be deemed to be a violation of his obligation." An important report was adopted relating to the better working of the order. To-day the Grand Lodge was engaged in the consideration of the funds question, and the measures to be taken for the adjustment of finances and the more vigorous prosecution of Temperance work.
