Mails close for the following places as under (subject to the necessary alterations) : THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaka, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m.; guard’s van, 10.25 a m. train. For Northern Ports, per|Grafton, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m.; guard’s van, 10.25 a.m. train. Note. —A Post Office has been established at Birdliug’s Flat Railway Station. Mails close at Christchurch each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, at 8 a.m
