OHOKA AND ETRETON RACES. A meeting of the committee of the Joekoy Club was held at Fountaine’s Junction Hotel on Monday evening. There was a good attendance, Mr G. Bailey (president) in the chair. Several of the entries for the handicap races were opened. The progress of the improvements to stand and yards was reported. Messrs May and Oram were appointed to wait on the Traffic Manager regarding a special train. The privileges of these races were sold by auction at Rangiora on Tuesday by Matson, Buss and Co. Gates, W. Buruip, £4l; publican’s booth, W. Burnip, £35; sports, £2; cards, £4 2s 6d ; and fruit stand, £l, to T. White. The right of confectioner’s booth and horse yards was not sold.
