AUCKLAND v NELSON. [l-EESS association telegram.] NELSON, December 13. The match between Auckland and Nelson commenced to-day. The weather is splendid. Nelson won the toss and put Auckland in. Barton and Robinson faced the bowling ©f Eden and G . Fowler. In the second over one of Eden’s rose oil Robinson’s pad, and he was given out by the umpire—l—l —2. Arneil was the next man in, and the score rose rapidly, when Barton was bowled by Wigzell—3—35—46. Yates then played one of Wigzell’s into his wicket—3 —5—53. With the score at 59, Arneil, who had made 24, was caught by Boddington off Wigzell. O’Brien, the next man, played one of Wigzell’s into point’s hand — 50 —63. Gardiner was clean bowled by Wigzell the third ball —C —0—03. Lankham got three singles and was bowled by Fowler —73—06. Gill then wont in, and the score stood at 70 for seven wickets at the lunch adjournment. CHRIST'S COLLEGE v CARISBROOK. DUNEDIN, December 12. In the cricket match to-day, Christ’s College v a Carisbrook team, played in spite of light rain, the scores wore —Carisbrook, 138 ; Robertson 39, Rhodes 35, being top scorers. College, 75 ; Harman 21, Bridge 13, being top scorers. Studholme took five wickets for 31 for the College, and for Carisbrook Cook six for 36.
