Mails close for the following places as under (subject to tlio necessary alterations) : (TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Manapouri, at 1.45 p.m,; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.4-0 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail. DECEMBER 13. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, &c. (addressed per Orient steamer only), and Australian Colonies, per express (to connect with s.s. Manapouri) at 7 a.m. Note. —A Post Office hasboen established ot Birdliug’s Flat Railway Station. Mails close at Christchurch each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, at 8 a.m -
