Mails; close for the following places as under (subject to the necessary alterations) : • • ;• C SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Cape of Good Hope, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c.,per Waitaki, as follows: —Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters, 7 u.m.; books and newspapers, 6.30 p.m.; more,; orders, 3 p.m.; registered correspondence, 5 x>.m.; guard’s van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will bo due in London on January the 15th.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 4. Nor Northern Ports, per Rotorua, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. BSPor Northern ports of New Zealand and Australian colonies (via Sydney), per Wakatipu, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Wakatu, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train.
Note —Mails for Tai Tapu and Halswell will in future close daily at 6 a.m. On Monday, 4th December, a Telegraph, Money-order, and Savings-bank office, will be opened at Papanui Railway Station, and a free delivery by letter carrier begun there.
