Tbe “ Daily Nows” states that a compromise has been arrived at in respect to the trial of Arabi Pasba. He is to plead guilty to a charge of rebellion, and w ill be exiled, but will retain bis sword, rank, and emoluments.
The Rhine is falling, hut the damage done by tbo overflow is estimated at millions of francs, and there are thousands of people thrown into distressed circumstances.
The English Government has decided to prosecute William Redmond for sedition, and to require Michael Davitt and Mr Healey, M.P., to find security to bo of good behaviour, or in default imprisonment.
It has been arranged that Baker Pasha is to retain command of the Egyptian Gendarmes, but an English general is to be placed in command of the whole of tbe Egyptian forces. Another constable has been shot in County Mayo.

Tbo total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bans: of England is .£11,000,000, being half a million more than lastweek ; the proportion of reserve to liabilities is 42 per cent. New Zealand securities are without quotable change. Colonial breadstuffs arc unchanged. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 49s Gd; New Zealand, 44s to 475. ! Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 345. Oil coast cargoes of New Zealand wheat are quoted at 42s Cd. Australian tallow — beef, 42a ; best mutton, 44s Cd.

A bulletin lias been issued, stating' that the Eight Hon. Henry Fawcett, Post-master-General, is suffering from a severe attack of diphtheria. In the House of Commons to-day. Sir Charles Dilke, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, in reply to a question, stated that the Egyptian Government had asked that a British commander and British officers might be appointed to the new Egyptian army.
The latest report announces that Dr. Tait is now expiring, and hopes of his recovery have been abandoned.
CONSTANTINOPLE, December 1
The new Turkish Ministry has been formed under Ahmed Vefik Pasha, Grand Vizier. Safvet Pasha has been appointed Foreign Minister, and Husne Pasha, Minister of War. The tendencies of the new Ministry are decidedly Anglo-phile.
