AQUATICS.

CANTERBURY ROWING CLUB. The final heat of the President’s Cup Race was pulled off on Monday evening. The crews were—J. Grierson, in the Electric, with the north hank ; J. O. Jones, Tyne, and south hank. Grierson got away with a slight lead, which he kept to Butterfield’s when Jones drew up to him, and with the inside of the turn slightly headed him. At the Tannery Jones had drawn clear, and was a couple of lengths ahead at Pratt’s. Coming up the reach to the bathing place Grierson made several efforts to get level, but was unable, Jones rounding Cowlishaw’s corner two lengths in iidvance, which lead he maintained to the finish. There were a number of spectators, and the winners were loudly cheered. Time —12min. Slsecs.
