COEN EXCHANGE. T!ie fol lowing is the report for the week endin'-,' Friday evening, tlie 17th inst. : The preceding week having: been entirely taken up by the holidays, business in the ■grain trade was almost entirely suspended. The present has not developed much activity, indeed the fulfilling of local demands is the only business stirring. .Wheat —The extreme quietness which has prevailed has hada depressing tendency, and values may be quoted as a shade easier. Prime milling samples, 4s 4d to 4s Gd per bushel ; second quality, 4s ; chick wheat, 3s Gd to 3s 7d per bushel. Oats—The local demand has been somewhat brisker. Values are not materially altered but are firm, and good short milling quality, 3s 4d to 3s sd; Steed, 3s 3d to 3s 4d per bushel. Barley—There is no inquiry for malting samples; ■ feed quality, 3s 4d to 3s Gd per bushel. , , Potatoes The demand has sensibly slackened ; holders are still, however, asking j£s 10s to j£6 per ton. Cheese and butter —The former is worth, for old Sd, new Cd ; the latter, 8d to Bld lb.
