Messrs Lidbetter and Cooper report closing prices as follows: —Bank of New Zealand, £23 10s; National Bank, 76s Cd; Colonial Bank, 48s 3d; Now Zealand Insurance, 775; National Insurance, 27s 9d to 28a; South British Insurance, 595; Standard Insurance, 15s; Union Insurance, 20s ; Colonial Insurance, 10s; Accident Insurance, 5s 6d; Wellington Gas Company, £lO 15s ; Drug Company, 21s; Shipping Company, 96s 6d; Welcome Gold Mining Company, 120 s; Darks, 60s; Homewards, 10s 3d; Wealth, 10s Cd; South British Lyell, 2s. Dunedin, November 15. Eat cattle were in full supply at the yards to-day, and prices receded by about 2s Gd per 1001 b ; bullocks brought up to £ll 10s, the cows up to £8 12s 6d; best beef, 25s per 1001 b. Sheep were also in fair supply, and the bidding was active, but prices, as was expected, declined from Is 6d to 2s per head. Mutton is quoted at 2d per lb shorn, and 3d to 3id in the wool. Grain—Wheat : the market continues very dull, and sales are difficult to effect, as millers are still holding back from purchasing in the expectation of lower prices. Prime milling, 4s 6d to 4s 8d (nominal) ; medium and inferior, 4s to 4s 3d ; fowls’ feed, 2s 6d to 3s fld per bushel. Oats : Supplies come to hand but slowly, in consequence of which the market is still firm, and sales of milling have been made up to 3s 4d, which is tho present top value ; medium, 3a to 3a 3ld ; inferior and discolored, 2s 6dto 3s.
