- OAMARU JOCKEY CLUB RACES. [press association telegram.] OAMARU, November 15. The Oamaru Jockey Club Spring races commenced to-day. There was a fair attendance, and the field, although not large, afforded good racing. The following are the results : Maiden Plate, of 40 sovs. Mokarakara, 9st 1 Aurora, Bst 91b... ... ... 2 Amy, Sst 91b ... ... ... ... ... 3 Makarakara, who was ridden with judgment throughout, won easily at the finish. Oamaru Handicap, of 120 sovs. Mr O’Brien’s Tasman, Sst 81b 1 Hon. G. McLean’s Gitana, fist 91b ... 2 Mr Kirby’s Adamant, 7st 81b 3 Hilda, Sst 11b, also ran. Gitana made the running till the straight was reached, when Tasman and Adamant came, and the race resulted as above by a, neck. The third horse was a neck behind the second. Hilda was out of it. The Hack Race of 20 sovs was won by Blink Bonny. Counties’ Handicap of 30 sovs. Magician ... ... ... ... ... 1 Juggler 2 Lightford ... ... ... ... ... 3 Won easily. The Handicap Time Trotting Race of 20 sovs was won by Ronie. Grand Stand Handicap of 50 sovs. Tasman 1 Adamant 2 Gitana 3 Tasman led from the start to the finish, and won with something to spare. DUNEDIN SPRING MEETING. DUNEDIN, November 15.
