GHE AUCKLAND CRICKET MATCH. The team to represent Canterbury in the approaching match with Auckland will be selected from the following players, who are requested to obtain as much practice as possible during the present week : —D. Ashby, E. Barnes, T. Buchanan, W. J. Cotterill, J. P owke, W. Frith, B. T. A. Fuller, T. D. Harman, J. Hartland, A. M. Ollivier, W. J. Pocock, W. P. Beeves, H. H. Secretan, C. Strange, J. Wheatley, G. Watson, P. Wilding. Special practices will be held at Lancaster Park on Tuesday, the 14th, and Thursday, the IGth iust., commencing immediately after the arrival of the 4.10 p.m. tram. STANDARD v WOOLSTON. A match was played on Saturday at Woolston between the Standard C.C. and the Woolston C.C., resulting in a win for the first-named team by one innings and 18 runs. The scores were Standard, 62 ; Woolston, 27 and 17. A match was played on Saturday last at Papanui, between an eleven from Lancaster Park and an eleven representing the United Papanui C.C., which resulted in a victory on the first innings for the home team. Papanui scored 13 in their first and 36 in their second innings. The Lancastrians 10 in their first and 8 for the loss of four wickets in their second innings. Ford with the bat and Reese with the ball (taking eleven wickets for 3 runs) played best for the home team. Beare, Slater, and Rich for the Lancastrians.
