A company has been formed here to acquire from Sir Julius Vogel the sole right of Using the Brush and Lane-Fox system of electric lighting in Victoria. Sir Julius Vogel has nearly completed arrangements for illuminating the Spencer’ B street railway station by an arc light, and is also making preparations for installation of the incandescent lamps in the Elizabeth street station. Eeceived November Sth, 1.40 p.m. MELBOUENE, November 8. Malting barley is firm at 5s 4d ; shipping wheat is weaker at 5s 6d. The market for New Zealand oats is unsteady; feeding qualities are worth 4s to 4s 3d, and milling ditto 4s 4d to 4s sd. During the week Messrs Goldsborough and Co., Limited, have sold 8300 bales at their wool auctions. Large attendances of home and foreign buyers continue, and prices remain very firm. Greasy wools averaged from Sd to -l4Jd. Several largo clips are realisising 12d to 14d; washed wools brought from 14d to 25d. Eeceived November 9th, 1.10 a.m. SYDNEY, November 8. The trial of William Dunn, who some time ago set fire to Wright’s Building Factory, was concluded at the Supremo Court to-day. The prisoner was found guilty of having caused the death of Mrs Wright, who perished in the flames, and was sentenced to death, ALBANY, November 8. The P. and O. steamship Kaiser-i-Hind, arrived in King George’s Sound today with the English mails via Suez and Brindisi, dated London. October 6th.
