CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday, November 9. [Before J. Ollivier, 8.M., and B. Wostenra, J.P.] Drunkenness. Clara Dodsworth was fined £2, or in default ninety-six hoxxx-s’ imprisonment. For first offences four men were each fined ss, or in default twentyfour hours’ imprisonment. Burnham Children. —Richard Golding, charged with neglecting to contribute to the maintenance of his children at Burnham, was allowed a fortnight to pay xxp in, his case being remanded till the expix-ation of that time. Vagrancy. —Parker West, a colored man, was charged with having no lawful •visible means of support. Henry Allen, licensee of the Golden Age Hotel, stated that on the previous day his attention was called to the suspicions proceedings of the prisoner, who, while in the bar of his hotel, was feeling about the clothes of an inebriated man who had some money about him. Witness put him out, and the police arrested him. Accused denied the charges, and said he was working every day. Ho was cautioned and discharged.
