MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the following places as under (subject to the necessary alterations) :
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7.
For and Australian Colonies, per Manapouri, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m. ; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Wanaka, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8. For Australian Colonies, per express, to connect with Manapom-i, at 7 a.m. For Northern ports and Australian Colonies, per Wakatipu, at 1.45 p.m. ; late fee_letters, 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train.
Note.—Thursday, November 9th (Prince of Wales' Birthday), being a Post Office holiday, all branches of the department ■will be closed on that day. Mails despatched on morning will be closed at 8 p.m. on "Wednesday, November Sth, on ■which date also the delivery department ■will be open between 8.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m., -when correspondence usually delivered by letter-carriers will be banded to applicants.
