At the usual sitting of the Waste Lands Board, held at Chrutoharch on Thursday, October 26th, aalea were made aa follows : Ordinary : Ashley, 58a 2r 29p; Belwjn. 8a lr CTp; Akaroa, 45a lr 4p ; Geraldine, 7a 3r 25p ; Waimate, la Sr 14p ; Vincent, 24a. Total acreage sold, lila Or 19p. Total cash received, £285 0s 2d. Befunds on account of former purchases were made in the amount of £2-85 11a 3d.

GBAIN AND PEODUOB. Another quiet week most be recorded in the grain market. Wheat is offering in small tanners' lota at 4s 6d, bat bayera appear disinclined to operate at over 4a, and business has bean trifling in consequence. Some brands of floor appear to be difficult to cell, judging by tbe low prices at which they are offering, whilst others are in fair request at np to £ 1110 a. Oata bare had a considerable amount of attention locally, ibut the. rainfall in Australia will no doubt cause a pause in orders from that quarter, «sd most probably muoh lower rates there. Barley is ao seldom offered that |the season may be considered cloned. Ihe extreme prices now asked fcr potatoes have stopped all but a retail trade. Butter ia easier, and aalea almost impossible to effect at 9d to lOd. The rains in Australia have completely altered the state of that market, prices there being now leas than tfcey are here. Good lots of cheese are still wanted at Bd. Hams and bacon are in good trade demand at 7£d to 8d; hams only, 9d to 9&d; bacon only, 7d to 7id. A few Australian Orders are said to be in the market.
