Messrs 0. S. Ross report the sale, ex Speedwill, of hewn logs of kauri pine at 16s. There was a fair demand.

j New Zealand wheat remains at 5s ! New Zealand oats have declined 3d per bushel, and are now worth 3s 6d ; maize has fallen to 5s Id. Sngar Company's No. 1 pieces are quoted at £45 per ton. The ship Northampton has been successfully floated off the beach at Botany Bay, and was to-day safely towed into Sydney harbor. The Bishops of Australia and Tasmania have finally selected the Right Rev. Dr. Parry, Bishop Suffragan of Dover for the vacant see of Sydney and the Primacy of Australasia.
ADELAIDE, October 27.
There is little doing in the breadstuff a market. Wheat is firm at 6s; town flour, £l3 15s; country, £l2 15a. Freights are firm.
