Soon Archer was noticed making tracks for the lead, which he wiested from Fuller on the eouth aide of the park. When passing, the stand he was loading by about two lengths, with A. F. Pigeon second, and Beswick third. These positions were maintained till the tape was breasted, when second honors were awarded to Beawiok, the second man, Pigeon, being disqualified for unfair walking. The third man, Hall, ran gamely, but his competitors were too good for him, and showed him their heels. Templar ran well, but a great waste of power resulta through unnecessary motion ol head and swing of body. Bobinson ran with judgment, and gave evidence that be can negotiate 250 yards with ease—indeed, it seems to be his distance. Time, 28 l-6th seconds, Second Heat. W.J.Webb 1 G. Palmer 2 Two competed. This was a grand spin, and Webb, who has reoently left Ohriat's College, does not disgrace the athletio train, ing of that foundation. Time, 28 15 th seoonds. Throwing the Hammer. J. S.Smith, 79ft 2in 1 F. B. Bobinson, 75ft 9in 2 Waohsmann also oompeted, and although beaten was not disgraced. Half-mile Flat Bace. F. N. Bobinson 1 A. S.Baker 2 Five ran. Baker ran well, but his ohanoe was extinguished by Bobinson's well judged exertions, the spurt being put on at the right moment, when just past the corner. The result was hailed with every demonstration of satisfaction. Time, 2min 11 1 sth seoonds. Two Mile Bicycle Bace (Handicap). F. B. Dunford, scratch 1 A. Templar, 600 yds 2 This was a hollow affair, Dunsford doing as he liked, and just allowing himself to win at the finish.

Steeplechase (about one mile). A.S.Baker 1 H. A. Knight . 2 Seven competed. As the title implies, several obstacles, vis., hurdles oovered with gone, post and rail fences, &u., had to be negotiated. Baker ran and jumped well, so too did Knight. J. W. Anderson also did well, but, reserving his effort till too late, what at one time was considered his race fell to Baker's lot.'
