OHBIBTOHUBOH. Monday, Ootobkb 23. [Before J. Ollivier, Esq., B.M.] Dbunkbnnes3. —The following oases wore dealt with:—Bines: Mary Craig, 6»; Wm. Chapman, £1; D. B. Hay, alias MoPnerson, 10* s John Dixon, alia* Warden, who had need obioene language near the theatre, 16s ; Andrew Williams, who had used obscene language and assaulted Sergeant Wilson by stoning him, £2 { Michael Jordan, 6s ; three men, 10s each ; and three men, 5s each. Alleged Enkqlary.—John MoOallnm, charged with breaking into and stealing from the shop of M. MoOallnm tools and material to the yalne of £34, was brought up and again remanded till October 24th, Thh Fbibhdly Societies Act.—Thos. Cutler, secretary to the Perseverance Division of the Sons and Daughter* of Temperance, was charged with neglecting to furnish to the Registrar a return of the receipts and expenditure of the division during the year ending December ,31*t, 1881. He admitted the charge, saying that there were several peculiar circumstances to account for the neglect. He was fined £l, and was allowed a fortnight to furnish the return. Licensing Places ot Amusement.—H. B, Webb was summoned as being the owner or having the control of St. John’s school' room, did permit an entertainment to be held iu that place without its being licensed, on the night of October 13th. Mr Weston, for the defendant, objected, that Mr Webb was a churchwarden merely, and as such was not to be held liable under the Aot, the trustees being the proper parties to sue. The Bench held the objection to be fatal, and dismissed the case. Miscellaneous. —Robert Cotton, Alex. Rountree, and H. Knight, were each fined 5s for allowing horses to wander.—Thomas Hawkes, for throwing a bottle at Constable Drake at Fendaltown, on October 16th, was fined £2, and expecse* cf twowitneises 10s.— Francis Hobson, for making use of obscene language in the bar of tho White Hart Hotel, on October 20th, was fined £2.-8. Nielson, in arrear with his payment* for the maintenance of his children ot Burnham, did not appear, and a warrant was ordered to be issued for his arrest. —Mary Ann Barrett and Maria Barkis, each in arrear £1 1* with their payments towards the support of their mother, Ann Qribbln, were ordered to pay up at once, or go to gaol for seven days. Finally they each agreed to pay 10s, and the balance in a week. —Patrick O’Rourke and J. Guthrie were fined 10s for not using proper closet pane.—A case of defective drainage against Eliza Dumb was adjourned till October 30th.—Fines of 10s each were inflicted in a large number ot oases for keeping unregistered dogs.—A case in which, on behalf of John Kelly, sureties of the peace were sought against Thoe. Henley, was dismissed.
