At the annual meeting of the Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association yesterday, the report showed 543 members holding 2382 shares, or a capital of £11,190; net profit for the year, £1677 ; the assets of the association were stated to be £37,054. It was resolved to carry £6OO to the reserve fund and to declare a dividend at the rate of 7 per cent, per annum, and to return a bonus of 2J- per cent, on the gross purchases made by the members.

The other Commissioners, as I telegrophed before, will bo Dr. Follon and Mr Thomson. The appointment will be made at to-morrow's meeting of the Executive Oounoil. The Commissioners will be gazetted ar.d set to work as speedily as possible. Carrying ont the wish expressed by Parliament last session, the Government are about to appoint an officer to aot under tho Minister of Mines as general inspector of work on the goldfields, and in connection with mining operations generally. The Government have in view a suitable porson for the post.
