It is understood that the British Government haa not yet formulated any proposal for the final settlement of the Egyptian question, but that the Powers are being sounded as to their views pending the final settlement of affairs in Egypt. ALEXANDRIA, October 10. The embarkation of British troops for England, and the Indian contingent for Bombay, is being rapidly proceeded with, and transports are leaving daily for their destination. An inquiry has been opened here into tho circumstances attending the outbreak and massacre which occurred in this city in June last.
