Fiji news per Taiaroa states that Edgar Sillite, who was entrusted with the conveyance of £261 from Bewa to Levuka, has disappeared, It is supposed he had levanted to New Zeeland on the last trip of the Ttiaroft from Suva to Levuka- W. Peterson ieh overboard and was drowned. Captain Watt, of the barque Bedcoat,. well known in New Zealand, has died at Suva. Town iota at Suva have been sold for £ls per foot. The Goodenough memorial clock tower at Levuka is completed. The captain of the Westward Ho, which arrived at Suva on tho 15 th September, reports that the captain and owner and fonr of the orew of the French cutter of Fortobello, had been murdered at the island of Santo, and the vessel pillaged. The French warship subsequently visited Santo, but the natives retreated to the bush. The ontter was manned by the cruiser, and call* at Hew Caledonia.
