Further particulars which are to hand regarding the explosion at Cairo show shat ton days’ rations and 100 trucks of war munitions have been destroyed by the fire. The loss of life was not eo great as at first stated. Five persons only wore killed, hut twenty suffered severe injury. Tho official accounts attribute the explosion to the accidental bursting of a shell. September 30. A grand review of the British army took place at Cairo to-day, and was an imposing spectacle. Tho Indian contingent are now under orders to - return, and will leave at once for India. The Guards do not leave Egypt until October 30th. [“ Argus ” Special, Pp.b United Press Association.]

LONDON, Sept. 29th, 7.20 a.m. Several Arabs have been arrested for firing on Turks. The 60th Rifles narrowly escaped annihilation by the explosion at Cairo. Received October 2nd, 12.45 a.m. CAIRO, September 30, 6,15 p.m. The review of the garrison troops, numbering 18,000 by tho Khedive, was a success. The British and Indian contingents elicited general admiration, especially the latter, who from their splendid physique showed io advantage. In addition to the Egyptian colors flying over the Khedive’s pavilion were the Royal Standard and the Union Jack. The review was witnessed by an immense crowd, and among those present were a largo number of diplomatic members. Tho whole of the 60th Regiment were in the immediate neighborhood, and had a very narrow escape. Notwithstanding tho explosion traffic ia still maintained on the railway. The extent of the loss and damage wrought by tbo spoliation of Alexandria was found on investigation to have been considerably underrated In the original estimates. The natives around the city are hostile and menacing.
