Sir, —I have ro'd with a certain amount of connect the letters from a “ Citizen ” and others, criticising the the public reading-room at Christchurch, ' Allow me to say that it certainly see;; s strange that the “ 'Times ” and the “ Spectator,” two of tfco beet papers published In London, should not be taken in here. I also would call the attention of the authorities to the shameful way in which “Punch " is manipulated ; its psgea are so soiled and torn, that It is ren dcred a few days pfter Its arrival quire unfit to bo bound ; and yet how many find amnae ment in looking over former volumes of this cocaio weekly ?
