By Electric Telegraph—Copyright, [reuter’s telegrams.] MELBOURNE, September 26. Received September 26th, 10 p.m. Sailed, this morning, the TJnien Company’s steamship Rotomahana for the Bluff. Messrs O. S. Ross and Co. report sales of kauri timber, ex Laira and Catherine Jane, at the following average price per 100 ft super :—Hewn logs, 16s 3d ; sawn flitches, 18s 6d; sawn boards, 1 Jin by Sin, 21s 6d. A fair demand was experienced. Sir Arthur Gordon sailed to-day for England by the P. and O. steamship Indus, Received Sept. 27 th, 0.45 p.m. The racehorse Wheatear, which was recently injured at the Randwicb racecourse, has been destroyed at Sydney.
