CORRESPONDENCE

THE PUBLIC LIBRARY.

To the Editor of the Globe. Sir, —I must again advert to the mlimaiagement of this institution by the Board of Governors, under the regime of their chairman, Mr Montgomery, who, I observe by a report ia one of your morning contemporaries, has been re-eleoted to fill that position, and, in returning thanks, promises to discharge the duties with zeal and assiduity. It is sincerely to be hoped that his definition of these terms may prove more comprehensive and conducive to the pnblio welfare during hia present tenure of office, leading to a proper supply of English papers being procured for the public reading room. At the same time I would ask him to bear in mind that we want deeds, not words. Yours, &0., CITIZEN. Pcptembar, 1882.
