BY CABLE. By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. [REUTER TELEGRAMS.] ALEXANDRIA, Sept. 23. Port Ghemeleh at Damietta has been dismantled, and abandoned by the British. Received 25ih September, 3.15 p.m, GENEVA, September 23. A number of Swiss volunteers has been enrolled here to serve as gendarmes in Egypt. [“Ash” Special, per United Tress Association.] Received September 26th, 1.5 a.m. LONDON, September 25, 3 a.m. The Khedive has intimated hia intention to decorate B. B. Malet, 0.8., British Agent and Consul-General in Egypt. The inhabitants at Cairo illuminated thoir city to-night in honor of the British. The personnel of the convention for framing the conditions of status quo has been changed, but the situation is unaltered. The 2500 of the enemy who were killed have been buried at Tel-01-Kobir. The Frenchmen and Italians who volunteered for service in Egypt have boon declared ineligible though thanked for the assistance offeree!. The Gibraltar residents are holding public rejoicings at the success of the British forces.
