Mails close for the following places as under (subject to the necessary alterations) : TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26. For Otago and Australian colonies, per Arawata, at 145. p m ; late fee- letters, 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Hawea, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27. For the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, via Brindisi (specially addressed correspondence only), Point de Galle, India, China, Japan, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, and Australian Colonies, per express train (to oonneot with b.b. Arawata),. at 7 a m. THUESDAr, SEPTEMBER 28. For West Coast Sounds (per Stella, from Bluff), express train, 7 am.
