COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Dunedin, September 20. Stock and Grain Market—There waa a small •apply of fat cattle to-day, and prices obtained showed a rise of 10s per head. Bullocks sold np to £l3 15a; cows to £ll 15s, or equtl to 27s 6d per hundred. In fat sheep there was a full supply, and some pens had to be turned out, prices receding Is to 1s 6d per head. Crossbreds sold np to 17a, and merinos to 10s 6d. Mutton is at 2d to 2Jd per lb. GrainWheat : The remarks in the last report apply equally to this week, especially as far »a milling i* concerned, there being no desire whatever on tlia part of the millers to increase their present stock. Prices, say, prime milling, ss; medium, -4a to 4a 9d. Oats are in fair demand, but as buyers will not give up to growers’ ideas of Tame, business is to a certain extent restricted. By auction this week were offered 34C0 bags, of which 1500 bags of feed sold at Is 9d to 3s 2d, which may he taken as the current prices for the description; milling, nominal, at 3s 2d to 3s 3d. Barley: In the absence of really good malting samples there is little or nothing doing. For medium and inferior there is no demand, except to supply very limited requirements. For feed and milling purposes present prices may be given as follows t— Prime malting, ss; feed aad milling, 2a 9d to 3s 3d for the termer, and up to 3s 8d for the latter.
