Captain Buuoiman has returned from America, where he ordered two cheese manufacturing plants for the Waikato Company, each oapable of turning out one ton of oheese per day. Two four-roomed cottages at Porsonby, occupied by Messrs Lake and Garlick, were burned to-day. The insurances were—on Lake's house, £200; furniture, £IOO in the Colonial. On Garlick'a house, £IBO in the .New Zealand. The latter'a furniture waa aaved. WELLINGTON, September 19. The oomet ia distinctly visible here this afternoon, close to the sun. Crowds are in the streets witnessing it. MASTBBTON, September 19. A young man named John Henry Hall was killed instantaneously while bush falling at Paniatea yesterday by a tree falling on him.
