Slightly Incongruous.—There ia a theatrical tradition extant to the effeot that the late Mr Braham was onoe engaged in the representation of a lyric drama, when, olad in evening dress, white tie, spotless gloves, and bearing a crush hat, he advanced to the footlights and said : ' Here I am, wandering in the midst of a primeval forest. Alas, how terrible. But what is this I see before me P A grand piano 1 Thank fortune! This will beguile the heavy momenta until a ship arrives to reicue me 1"
