At to-day's wool sale 11,100 bales were catalogued. The market was firm. There are bo changes to report in the money or produce markets. The latest intelligence to hand from Manilla states that the cholera epidemic which has been raging there is now decreasing daily, and there are hopeful signs that it will be stamped out. September 12.
The Australian cricketers commence a match to-day at Leeds against Shaw's team, which visited Australia last season. The Australians went in first, and were all disposed of for 79. The Home team then commenced their first innings, which closed for the same number of runs, 79. At the close of the day's play the Australians in their second innings had put together 38 runs for the loss of three wickets.
The health of the Archbishop of Canterbury is unsatisfactory, and his condition is still precarious.
