DUNEDIN, September 13
At the City Court, Albert Edward Morgan was remanded for a week on a charge of criminally assaulting a child, aged six years. Bail was refused.
Edwin Marlowe, the defaulting clerk in the Union Shipping Company's service, was arroated at Pore Chalmers late yesterday. He was concealed in the house of a friend. It is believed he contemplated leaving by the barque Woodville, for Chili, to-day. He was brought up at the City Court this morning, and formally charged with embezzling £BO. He was remanded, pending the getting ready of other chargee to ha preferred. Bail was allowed, himself in £SCD, and two sureties of £250 each.
