fPBB FBBSa ASSOCIATION,! AUCKLAND, September 11. Mr J. H. Beare, eu old oolonist, died suddenly on Saturday. A large comet was observed at four o'clock yesterday morninp. DUNEDIN, September 11. Mr W. H. Taggart has purchased lie Loup for 500 guineas. It is reported that Edward Marlow, a clerk in the Union Steam Shipping Company's employ, has disappeared. The defalcations are stated to be over £2OO. A warrant has been issued. INVEBOABGHLL, Sep 1 ember 11. The body of an infant was found at South Xnveroargill yesterday. It had been placed in a box, whioh was buried two feet down. The discoveiy it due to a dog, which called attention to the spot by soratsbing, and refused to leave. The bc3y was fully clothed. The box and oontents were removed to the Hospital. The police are said to have a due to the matter, and it is hinted that the affair will probably not be found to be of suoh a tragic nature es the mode of burial indicates.
