Monkmaa, photographer, was oharged on summons at the Polioe Court, with a breaoh of the Fine Arts Copyrights Aots by copying the portraits of Tawhiao without permission of the owner. Jno. Blackman, of Fulman's photographic Btudio, gave evidence. It was stated it was customary to get Maori celebrities without pecuniary consideration. Judgment was reserved. NEW PLYMOOTH, September 10.

Mr T. S. Weston, member for Inangahus., arrived here last evening, he having had to leave his parliamentary duties snldenly owing to domestic affliction, his mother having died twelve hours before he oould reaoh the place. A woman named Ellen Galloway, wife of the master of the Harbor Board dredge, was missed from her home on the South Spit on Friday at about 11 p.m. She appears to have got out of bed and walked into the creek, for her footprints were traced to the water. The body was recovered on Saturday. An inquest will be hold to-morrow.
