UNITED CANTERBURY CRICKET CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the members of the above club was held last evening at eight o'olook at the Oity Hotel. There was a good attendance. Mr W. V. Million presided.

The balance sheet, duly audited, was submitted, by whioh it appeared the receipts were £l7O 17s, including a balanoe of £3719s from the previous season, the expenditure being £129 3a 9d, leaving a credit balance of £42 13s 3d. On the motion of Mr Hartland, seoonded Mr Beiwiok, the balanoe sheet was received and adopted. The eleotion of officers resulted as follows : President, Mr H. P. lianoe ; vice-president, Hon. H. O. J. Stevens, M.L.O.j secretary and treasurer, Mr Hartland ; captain, non-associa-tion matches, Mr B. Harman; committee, Meiers Afshby, Oondell, Oorfe, F. Fenwick, W. V. Millton, H. Parkerson and Longden ; Delegates, Messrs E. Harman and F. FeaMessrs Maofarlane and H. Fenwick were eleoted as a sub-committee to act with the captain of the non-association matches in arranging the junior matches of the season, and also to seleot a cap:ain for the third eleven. The Secretary said he had to oall attention to the proposed oup matches, and as the olub would have to enter before a certain date he would like au expression of opinion as to the club's action. As the oldest olub the 0.0.0.0. ought to subsoribe towards the fund. . . Mr F. Wilding thought that a subscription of £3 3» from eaoh of the clubs would be snfficieut, Mr Fenwiok proposed—" That the U. 0.0.0. contribute a sum of four guineas towards the oup fund, and that the secretary be instructed to enter the olub for competition in the oup matches."

The motion was agreed to. The Chairman stated that the objeot of the cup matches was to induce greater promptitude in turning up for play. He hoped all would bear this in mind and muster in good form. ■" i ; The usual votes of thanks were aooomed to the chairman and the officers of the olub, whioh terminated the bueinew.
