OTAGO AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.
[PHESa ASSOOIATIOH TELEOBAST,] DUNEDIN, August 21. Tbs report of this association, to be submitted at the annual meeting on Wednesday, states that a very large number of the exhibitors represent that the present show date, about 30th November, is too late in the season, and that the Dunedin Show should follow immediately after the Christchurch one, which is on the 9th November. The obtaining of a permanent lease of sufficient ground at the Porbury Park, upon which to erect yards and building, is also most essential to the future success of the association, and strenuous exertions will have to be made to raise the requisite funds to enable those most necessary works to bo carried out. The committee suggest that, in order to keep up the interest which ought to bo felt in such an association, meetings should be held at short intervals to discuss matters effecting the agricultural and pastoral interests generally, and that members should be invited to read papers bearing upon such subjects at those meetings, and discussions encouraged thereon as much as possible. The receipts from all sources amounted to £919.
