SEAWARD BUSH RAILWAY.
f rases association tbxhobam.J INVB EO ARGILL, Auguet 1. A meeting to promote the Seaward Bush and Toi Toia Bail way, was held at the Theatre Beyal to-night under the presidency of the Mayor. The floor of the building was packed with citizens and settlers. A resolution expressing surprise and disappointment at the omission of the railway from the Government proposals' to construct public works out of
the new loan, and respectfully asking the Government to make provision for its construction, was -carried unanimously. A further resolution reminding the Government that their act, in placing the railway on the schedule of public works to bo executed, and subsequently sending commissioners to report on the route gave an implied pledge that the railway had the full sanction of the Government, and would be undertaken as one of the first works out of a new loan. A third resolution was also carried calling the attention of the Government to the fact that the people of this district have in no way abated their desire to have this railway promoted as one of the first importance to the district. The resolutions, of which tha movers were Messrs Ddnniston, W. H. Hall, Wade, J. L. McDonald, Lutnsden, Bmy the, Carswell, and J. T. Thomson, will be forwarded to the Minister for Public Works and district members of Parliament. The proceedings were characterised by decided unanimity and earnestness with regard to the business in hand.
