At the usual sitting of the Waste Lands Board, held at Christohurch on Thursday, July 27th, salsa were made as follows :—Ordinary: Ashley, 15» lr 16p; Selwyn, 5a 8r; Akaroa, 24a lr 2Sa. Deferred payments, village settlement, flr. Total acreage sold, 46a Or Ip. Total cash MBived, £96 4i 3d. Befunds on account of CdKar purchases were made in the amount of JSSS 15a 3d. GEAIN AND PEODUCE. Business has been quiet during the past week in almost all lines. Wheat is a shade easier, consequent upon reaction in English markets, but as very little is offering locally, valval are purely nominal, and may be quoted at last week's prices, say 4s 6d to 4s 8d at inland stations. Flour has been rather quiet, but this is doubtless owing to the usuil ceseation cf orders towards the end of the month. Oats continue very quiet, and buyers are disinclined to operate unless at a considerable reduction. A parcel of feeding quality wa3 offered at 2s 11 d during the week without finding a buyer, and we have jjfiard of sales of milling at 3s. Any good •—-rssispea of barley offering are esgerly picked up at 4s 6d, but low grades continue neglected. In potatoes we have heard of a few unimportant sales at 35s to 40a, according to place of delivery. Butter of good quality is very soaroe at Is 2d. but cheeie is in fair supply at 7d. Hams and bacon are unaltered at 7ii ta Bd.
