COURSING.
TALDHTJIIST OOT7BBING MEETING. Second Day. This meeting was continued yesterday. Very few spectators were presant, the weather no doubt keeping many away. Hares were plentiful, but very;wild. Only eight courses wore got off, leaving eight more to finish the meeting, which will be oontinued (weather permitting) on Monday. Mr D. O'Brien gave every satisfaction as judge, as also did Jacob Spooner as slipper, although the latter had a little trouble with the saplings, several proving rather unmanageable. The following is the account of yesterday's running : Sapling Stakes. First Bound (continued). Messrs Hale and Judge's f w d Alchemist beat Mr Taylor's f s Bose of Denmark Messrs Wagner Bros, wis Waikiri beat Mr T. Bascefct's bfc w s Minnesota Mr Jamieaon'B w d Falcon ran a bye. Maiden Puppy Stakes. First Tiesr— Nancy Lee beat Colleen Bawn Balgal beat Blue Devil ' Don Pedro beat Tha Boy Box ran a bye. V AitioKD Stakes. "w First Ties. \JBridegroooi beat Sir Uoger. Sapling Stake.—A hare was started on the \ plough for Alchemist and Bose of Denmark. The former having it all his own way won V easily. Minnesota and We.ilr.hi ran two no before the deciding course, in which tha former led from the slips. The hare swerving the latter got first turn, after whioh a good give and take course ensued, the verdict being for Waikiri. Faloon then ran his bye. Maiden Pappy Sake.—Nancy Lee proved too fast for Colleen Bawn in a nice trial and won. Balgal and Blue Devil were sent away on even terms, the latter making things very merry at the start, but the hare proving a good one, Balgal lasted longest and won, Don P>)dro and The Boy ran two no oourses, and when next sent away Don led and won easily. Box tfcon ran hb bye wi'h Colleen Sawn, the latter having the best of it. All-Aged Stake. Bridegroom lei Sir tojy Boaer and won easily. r xhii finished the day's coursing. NOBTH OTAGO PBESIDENT'S CUP. rpBBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM ] OAMABT7, July 28. The President's Cup of the North Otago Coursing Club was to day won by Mr J. McDonald's Magnolia, Duchess of Oonnaught feeing runner up.
