Earl Kimberley will at present hold the two offices pending the reconstruction of the Cabinet in autumn. O'Brien, who was arrested, and confessed to having taken part in tho assassination of Lord Cavendish and Mr Burko, has asserted that two of the assassins received £25 for committing the foul deed.
