THE FIRST SKIRMISH.

A skirmish lasting half an hoar has taken place between the British advanced troops and a party of Arabi Pasha’s force. The English lost none, and the casualties on the other side were slight, but sixty prisoners were taken. There are 30,000 rebels assembled at Ramleh. The total of Arabi’a force is estimated at 100,000, but they are mostly rabble. The Christians have been massacred at Smyrnia (?)
